This page is here so you can do two things: tell us to stop the advertising-related sharing that Section 8 of our Privacy Policy describes, and tell us to limit how we use your sensitive personal information. It also states plainly what is never shared, no matter what you do.
It is short on purpose. If you only want the actions, they are in Section 3 and Section 4.
1. What "sale" and "sharing" mean here
We advertise Tranqui on Meta, TikTok, and Google. To know whether that advertising works, those partners and our attribution provider AppsFlyer receive:
- a device identifier, and the advertising identifier Apple assigns to your device, but only if you granted App Tracking Transparency permission;
- your IP address, which implies an approximate city or region;
- the device model, operating system version, and app version their software transmits with any network request;
- four app lifecycle events: install, open, session, account registration, subscription or trial start, and purchase including its value.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and under several other state privacy laws, handing an advertising partner an identifier so it can measure a campaign counts as a "sale" or a "share" — even though no money changes hands and no content you write is ever included. That is a legal term, not a description of a cash transaction. We have never sold personal information for money and do not intend to.
That is the whole of what this page lets you switch off. Section 8 of the Privacy Policy lists it in full.
2. What we never share
Your journal entries, the moods and emotions you log, the reflections you write, and the answers you gave when you set up your account are never sold, never shared with any advertising partner, and never used to train an artificial intelligence model. Not now, and not if you take no action at all.
The same is true of your email address, your name, your account ID, the topics you write about, any inference we draw from your entries or your setup answers, and the record of which screens you open and which features you use inside the app. None of it reaches Meta, TikTok, Google, or AppsFlyer. No event that reaches those partners could carry it, which is why this is a design fact and not a promise about our restraint.
Opting out below does not change anything in this section. It is already true.
3. How to opt out
Email privacidad@apptranqui.com and say you want to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. That is the whole request. You do not need any particular wording, and you do not need an account — we will not ask you to create one.
It helps if you include the email address on your Tranqui account, so we can apply the opt-out to the right account. If you do not have an account, say so and we will record the request anyway.
A person reads every request and applies it. We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and handle opt-out requests within 15 business days, usually much faster. Opting out never reduces the features available to you and never changes the price you pay.
There is no opt-out switch inside the Tranqui app today. The email address above is the route that works, and we would rather tell you that than point you at a setting you would go looking for and not find. If we build an in-app control, we will update this page.
Two device-level controls also take effect immediately, without any request to us: declining App Tracking Transparency, and turning off tracking permission for every app at the device level. Section 6 explains those, and one more besides. But they are narrower than an opt-out:
Declining App Tracking Transparency stops the advertising identifier specifically. It does not stop the rest. Your device identifier, IP address, device model, operating system version, app version, and the install, open, session, account registration, subscription or trial start, and purchase events keep flowing to our advertising partners until you opt out by email. The two are not equivalent, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.
4. Limit the use of your sensitive personal information
This is the second thing this page is for, and it is a different right from the opt-out above. California Civil Code Section 1798.121 lets you direct a business to limit its use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
In Tranqui, your sensitive personal information is the moods and emotions you log, the reflections you write, the answers you gave when you set up your account, and the patterns we draw from all of that — the things that concern your mental health.
None of it is ever sold, ever shared with an advertising partner, or ever used to train an artificial intelligence model. That is already true and Section 2 says so. What it is used for is running the app, showing you your own history, and choosing which exercises, prompts, and educational material the app offers you.
To limit that use, email privacidad@apptranqui.com and say you want to limit our use of your sensitive personal information. That is the whole request; no particular wording is needed. A person reads it and applies it.
We will then restrict our use of your journal content and your setup answers to storing them and showing them back to you. The app stops personalizing which exercises and prompts it offers, and shows you the same content as everyone else. Nothing else about your account changes, and the price is the same. Section 15.1 of the Privacy Policy states this right in full.
There is no switch for this inside the Tranqui app today either. Email is the route that works, and we would rather say so than point you at a setting you would go looking for and not find.
5. Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control is a signal that browsers and browser extensions send. Mobile apps do not send or receive it, so it never reaches the advertising software inside the Tranqui app. That is exactly why the email channel in Section 3 exists — on your phone, it is the route that works.
On our website there is nothing for the signal to switch off, and we would rather explain that than describe machinery we have not built. The Tranqui website loads no advertising scripts and no analytics scripts. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies, only the cookies strictly necessary to make the site work. The only third party the site contacts at all is Supabase, which handles authentication on the password-reset page. Nothing is sold or shared from this website, so a Global Privacy Control signal arriving here has nothing to stop.
We do not ask you to confirm the signal and we do not override it. If we ever add anything to the website that would count as a sale or a share, we will honor the signal and update this page before that happens.
6. Device-level controls
These are settings on your device, not settings in Tranqui. They take effect immediately and apply to more than just us.
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Find Tranqui in the list and switch it off, or turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" to deny the advertising identifier to every app on the device at once. Apple then withholds the identifier from us and from our partners, and we do not attempt to work around that in any way.
- Clearing the advertising identifier. Current versions of iOS have no separate reset button. Turning "Allow Apps to Request to Track" off is what clears it: iOS then returns a string of zeros to any app that asks, including ours. That is the device-level way to break the link, from that point on, between your device and any advertising profile built on that identifier. It stops future association; it does not delete a profile that has already been built.
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising. Turn off "Personalized Ads" to stop Apple using your App Store activity to target advertising. This one is about Apple rather than about us, but it is worth knowing.
None of these stops the rest of what Section 1 lists. Only the opt-out in Section 3 does that.
7. Authorized agents
Someone else can make a request on your behalf — a family member, a lawyer, or a privacy service.
Have your agent email privacidad@apptranqui.com from their own address and include:
- your name and the email address on your Tranqui account;
- what you want done: opt out, limit the use of sensitive personal information, access, correction, deletion, or portability;
- written proof that you authorized them to act for you — a signed permission from you, a power of attorney, or equivalent documentation.
We may contact you at the account email address to confirm that you authorized the request before we act on it. There is no form to fill in and no portal to register with; the email address above is the entire process. If the proof is unclear or we cannot reach you, we will write back and tell you exactly what is missing rather than leave the request unanswered.
For everything else — what we collect, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the full list of your rights — read the Privacy Policy.
